It's funny how things change as we get older. In the past, I would have wanted to sleep in on my birthday. Sure, an extra hour or two would have been lovely. But you know what was even better? Waking up (that in itself is enough), walking into your room to pick you up out of your crib, taking you to Mama and Papa's bed and nursing you. Audrey, you are the sweetest thing in the world. You're the best gift Mama has ever received (Papa, too!). Your smile melts my heart every time.
We took you to get your first vaccinations today. Mama was a complete mess. You, on the other hand, were a champ! You were sleepy, but smiled really big at the nurse when she was talking to you. I held you as she stuck the needles in (there were 3), and you barely seemed to notice. Papa said you gave her a 'mean mug' face before you cried out. Once I put your bink bink in, you stopped! You never made another fuss about it, big or small. We are so proud of you, sweetheart. You have no idea.
Right now, we're sitting at Panera Bread eating lunch, and you're fast asleep in your carseat beside me. There is nothing I love more than to just sit and look at you. Well, maybe hold you...yeah, that's it. It's hard for me to leave you sleeping sometimes. I just love you so much. I never knew I could love someone this much. You are our world, sweetheart.
